What is Substack? It's an online platform that allows creators to upload and publish content directly to subscribers' email. It's a blog-like format, and creators often focus on a specific niche, offering high quality, in depth content and information.
Why do I call my Substack newsletter Small Moments . . . Noted?
Often all we have are little bits of time to create. So, let’s start small. Every time you paint, no matter how long, is an opportunity to learn and create. This is a place to practice, learn, and offer support and accountability. In keeping with ‘small,’ I will slowly add tips, tricks, supplies, worksheets and other useful tidbits of information (it could be anything from book recommendations, to museum exhibits, to art history information). Also, I will offer a small weekly-ish watercolor sketch video for us to create artwork together. Thank you for joining me here. If you think someone else would enjoy this space, please recommend Small Moments . . . Noted.

This is a slightly more advanced watercolor painting course. We will continue to discuss and use fundamental watercolor techniques, but it is helpful to already have a basic understanding of color theory, value, and three dimensional form. Each week we will continue to focus on a technique or element with practice worksheets, followed with a painting project. Classes build on one another week after week. It is recommended that you have already taken Introduction to Watercolor prior to enrollment in this intermediate class. A $60 materials fee applies to all new students. Returning students pay only a paper materials fee.

Join me at a special Open Studios Napa Valley Pop-Up Show in the Yountville Community Center Plaza for a sneak peak of the work of 15 Napa Valley Open Studios artists. There will be music, community, and a lot of art! This is a great way to get an overview all in one place of some of the unique and amazing works by Napa Valley artists showing in September. Stop by and say hello!

Learn the relaxing and magical world of watercolor in this weekly Watercolor Series. Each class day focuses on a different watercolor technique through demonstration and practice, followed by creating a final painting for the day using the techique learned. Each class builds on techniques. Attendees also learn about materials, color theory, and light/shadow. If someone wishes they could sign up for both sessions. Techniques are repeated, but projects are different, so people can continue learning and practicing with new project content.
*No experience necessary. Beginners are welcome.
